UDL Book builder

The book I created is a poem that correlates phonetic sounds to the names of the letters. The ELA teacher that I am in correspondence with explained to me that many students come to school and have no experience or knowledge about the alphabet. It is important for teachers to introduce to students and integrate the ABC’s into their lives in fun meaningful ways. The UDL Book Builder program allows teachers to create books that can be personalized to their class. The teacher can create books to implement ELA into all content areas, or current event. Teachers can also create books for an individual student. One of the main jobs of a teacher is to recognize every student as an individual and cater to his/her needs. UDL Book Builder is a great tool for that.
The book I created is great to read to students when they are beginning to learn the alphabet. It helps familiarize them with the names of the letters and the sounds they make. Being that in is in a poem form and includes a lot of alliteration it is easy for students to remember the phases and can eventually chant along. Additionally the teacher can create a BIG book. This way students can follow along thereby causing them to recognize the letters.
